Country Club Hills is a special place for me and my family, this is where we chose to call home. I see so much potential in Country Club Hills. I have watched our city flourish continuously under two administrations, with a life of its own and that is because of the people in the community.
As a community, and a nation, we have faced some challenging times over the past three years due to the pandemic. Many of us have lost loved ones, jobs, and homes. For those of us who have survived the pandemic, it has caused some stress and pain, but we remained grateful. I am here to say that as Alderman, husband and father, I stand strong with you and empathize with your concerns. Country Club Hills still stands!
As Alderman of the 4th Ward for the past 8 years, I have noticed some things. Country Club Hills has flourished into a place that is desirable for both families and businesses. Our businesses are thriving because of you, the residents, and now more than ever, businesses want to be located in our community. In terms of what I have accomplished, I have created and cultivated an environment where my community has experienced continued improvement. Though these past three years have been challenging, I have developed better teams by encouraging mutual respect via open and honest communication so we can get things done in the City Council. As an elected official, integrity and accountability are a must! My people deserve that. To add, my community initiatives prove my commitment. Whether it’s a Turkey Drive, Annual Shred Day, or partnering with School District 160 for my HBCU events, Country Club Hills and it's residents are always on the top of my mind. However, there is so much more I plan to do for the youth, park district, schools, seniors and veterans. Being Mayor would afford me the opportunity to get these things done for you. I have heard your concerns, now let me work for you!
Today, I announce my 2023 candidacy for Mayor of Country Club Hills. With your voice and your vote, let’s make this happen. It’s not about me, it’s about you. I am Ricardo D. Spivey and I am running for Mayor.
